New version of zanox MasterTag for advertisers

Today we released a new version of zanox MasterTag, the script container solution introduced in December 2010.

The zanox MasterTag enables advertisers to flexibly integrate various value-added services and applications into their shops and websites. Following one-time implementation on the advertiser’s website, the MasterTag acts as a container for solutions from zanox and selected external providers, such as web analytics tools or retargeting.

Advertisers can therefore react to market developments with much greater speed and exploit new business opportunities, as they are not required to make any further technical effort and are not bound to release cycles of their IT systems. So far, it has been possible to integrate all leading European retargeting providers via zanox MasterTag.

The most significant improvements to the zanox MasterTag include:

  • Advertisers have full transparency regarding the applications they use and their respective settings, which they can keep track of in the zanox User Interface.
  • Via the zanox Application Store, further applications can be selected, which zanox will then configure for the advertiser.
  • zanox has formed new alliances with even more retargeting providers that, with immediate effect, enable advertisers to cooperate with a wide selection of retargeting providers.

Retargeting enables targeted advertising to potential customers who have already visited an online shop, only to leave without making a purchase.  With attractive, tailor-made offers, these customers can be readdressed and motivated to buy.

More details can be found in the fact sheet (PDF).

If you would like to use zanox MasterTag and Retargeting, or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Ryman Migrates Affiliate Business from Tradedoubler to Affiliate Window

Leading UK stationery specialists, Ryman, has closed their performance advertising campaign on TradeDoubler to launch an exclusive programme with Affiliate Window. As a high street retailer with strong brand recognition and a solid share of the stationery and office supplies market, Ryman’s primary objective is to increase the profitability of their affiliate scheme with a retail-focused recruitment drive.

The decision to relocate the programme to Affiliate Window was based upon the network’s investment in innovative tools and technology, predominantly Darwin Marketplace. Through this industry-specific social platform, Ryman will gain access to a large range of retail publishers and have the ability to directly communicate with existing and potential partners.

Charlotte Senger-Jones in Multi-Channel Marketing at Ryman comments:We are delighted to be launching our affiliate programme exclusively with Affiliate Window. We have implemented an aggressive growth strategy to increase online sales in 2011 and believe there are massive opportunities within the affiliate channel to help us achieve our goals. Whilst launching with Affiliate Window will give us greater access to innovative tools and a solid base of retail affiliates, we are also excited at the prospect of additional partnership opportunities available through the network.

Claire Theobald, Head of Account Development for Affiliate Window adds:Whilst we have a good understanding of key affiliates in the office supplies and stationery sector, the core focus will be on identifying new and innovative affiliate partners in the space to help grow the programme throughout 2011. Introducing John Chow Cola – The Official Blogger Drink

Introducing The Official Blogger Drink

John Chow, Inc., publisher of John Chow dot Com and The Coca-Cola Company, maker of the number 1 selling soft drink in the world, has entered into a licensing agreement to produce John Chow Cola, The Official Blogger Drink.

When bloggers drink John Chow Cola, post ideas will “pop” into their heads because of the drink’s Liquid Neuro Enhancers. A blogger will never get writer’s block again if he drinks John Chow Cola.

John Chow Cola

“John Chow Cola taps into a market The Coca-Cola Company has been trying to reach for years without much success. By partnering the world’s best known blogger with the world’s number 1 brand, we’re sure John Chow Cola will become one of the top selling Coca-Cola products. John Chow Cola tastes great and offers increased productivity for bloggers.”

Muhtar Kent – Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, The Coca-Cola Company

John Chow Cola will ship in cans for the North American market. Markets outside North American will receive John Chow Cola in the classic Coke bottle. A Diet John Chow Cola will shortly follow.

Made with Liquid Neuro Enhancers

John Chow Cola is the first drink in the world to use Liquid Neuro Enhancers (LNE). A technology that took The Coca-Cola Company over ten years to develop. Unlike a sport drinks that only enhance physical performance, the LNE used in John Chow Cola enhances the brain’s ability to come up with new blog post ideas. One drink is all it takes to get a sugar rush of ideas pouring in.

With over 120 million bloggers on the Internet and 175,000 joining everyday, the market for John Chow Cola is huge and untapped. Being first to market means John Chow Cola will be The Official Blogger Drink.

From John Chow Soda To John Chow Cola

This is my second soda licensing deal. Back in 2008, I signed a deal with Jones Soda to sell John Chow Soda. However, the drink didn’t have Liquid Neuro Enhancers and it wasn’t a cola. With the bigger distribution and marketing muscles of The Coca-Cola Company, I expect John Chow Cola to easily outsell John Chow Soda.

Automate Twitter Marketing with Tweet Attacks

More and more, people are starting to realize that Twitter is not only useful as a social networking platform, but it is also a very powerful marketing tool. The trouble is that it can be difficult to wrap your head around just how to use Twitter effectively in this manner. You have to deal with building followers, tweeting out the right things, and reaching the right audience.

It certainly isn’t going to be for everyone, but Tweet Attacks could prove to be a valuable resource for anyone who wants to use Twitter for marketing purposes. Over the course of this review, we’ll explore some of the features that it has to offer, its user interface, and whether it is worth the purchase price.

What Is Tweet Attacks?

Basically, Tweet Attacks is a Twitter marketing software package that allows you to automate a great deal of the tasks that you would normally have to undertake manually.

There are a lot of seemingly similar programs out there that do many of the same things. You may have encountered some web services, for example, that are set up to automatically follow people based on keyword searches, unfollowing them automatically if you don’t get the reciprocated follow. However, this Twitter software is more comprehensive than that.

In addition to helping you get more followers, you can use Tweet Attacks to send direct messages, automate replies, spin tweets, schedule tweets, and so on. It’s also important to note that Tweet Attacks posts directly on the web, rather than using an API call. This means you don’t need to worry about API limits and it also helps to make the tweets look more natural.

Starting with the Interface

Some people prefer web-based interfaces, but Tweet Attacks is a local installation on your computer. This can be either a pro or a con, depending on your perspective. I did find the user interface to look a little on the clunky side, so it’s important that you take a look through the manual before really getting started.

The software is effectively broken down into a number of “modules” that can be selected from the menu near the top. The first is the follow/unfollow module, shown above. This allows you to automatically follow people based on a keyword search, but you can also set the criteria to follow people who are already following a certain account. You can set delays and limits, helping your actions look more “human-like” to Twitter.

Other modules include direct messaging, tweet scraper, tweet manager, tweet poster, @mention generator, wait and reply, retweet attacks, and account statistics. Each module is displayed in a similar manner, but it is not as intuitive as I had hoped. Let’s take a look at the @mention generator as an example.

Generating Replies Based on Keywords

To do this, first you need to search for people who have tweeted your target search term. This is under the “scrape users” tab. After fetching the number of results that you’d desire, you swap over to the tab to generate a reply.

You cannot compose the tweet directly. You have to import a text file (using “spinning” syntax, if you’d like). Tweet Attacks can then make your embedded links unique by adding insignificant random text to the end (i.e., http://example.com becomes http://example.com?ab3).

Then, you need to select the users that were scraped in the first step, click on the “generate on selected” button, click on the “send to tweet manager” button, go to the Tweet Manager module, define your posting schedule, and click on the “start posting from web” button. That’s far too many steps for something that’s supposed to make things automatic.

How Much Does It Cost?

In this review, I only took a look at two of the main features. You can browse through the sales page to explore some of the others, but this should give you a sense of what to expect.

For my part, I’m not a fan of the “bots” that send out automatic tweets based on keyword searches. They’re generally annoying and detract from the point of Twitter. That said, it’s completely up to you if you want to take this path for your Twitter marketing. It is good to see that the developers have made some effort to make the tweets appear more human, but whether or not this is effective is debatable. It’s also quite possible that they could face a trademark infringement suit for using “tweet” in the name, not unlike how TweetLater had to become SocialOomph.

Tweet Attacks is available in both full ($147) and lite ($57) editions. The latter lacks the reply generator module, the wait and reply module, the multi-user tweet poster module, and the retweet attacks module.

Using the Google Traffic Estimator to Find the Best Keywords

Linka from PR9 Sites

Whether you are new to Internet Marketing, or you have been at it for a while, having a system to find the best keywords is one of the critical success factors in this business.

In the video below, I show you exactly how I use the Google traffic estimator to do my keyword research to find keywords around which to build profitable niche sites. In this video, I show you:

  • What settings I use in the Google keyword tool and why they are important
  • I show you how to determine the level of competition for a given keyword, as well as give you my rule of thumb for the upper limit of competing sites
  • I show you how to analyze the strength of the competition
  • I show you a super fast way to find out if an exact match domain is available

Isn’t that a Lot of Work?

At this point, you might be thinking, Trent, that looks like a lot of work to find just one keyword! And yes, it is a lot of work, however, consider the following idea: What if you could find one keyword to build just one niche site a day and that site ended up earning you just $100 per month?

What does that look like after working 5 days a week for a year? Well, you’d have about 200 sites and you’d be earning $20,000 a month! Wouldn’t that be worth all that keyword research?

You bet it would!

How Can I Accomplish this in Less Time?

Most new marketers have a day job. Few can devote a full-time effort to building sites, at least initially. I am full time, however, even I don’t want to spend all day every day doing such repetitive work. (although I WOULD do it if there was no other option because the rewards are so worth it)

The “secret” to getting this done with very little of your time (but with some of your money) is to hire a virtual assistant to do this for you.

I Only Invest 30 Minutes of My Time Per Niche Site

The key to scaling up your niche site business is to outsource every little thing. In other words, you want to have a VA build your entire website and then deliver it to you ready to go. The only thing I do is to provide them with a few seed keywords. (I explain what a seed keyword is in the video above)

Now how many sites can you build a day? How about, as many as you want!

Consider the following facts:

  • It takes about 90 minutes to find a viable keyword, sometimes less, sometimes more
  • It takes about an hour to pick a theme, decide on your LSI keywords, configure your link structure, and install a few plugins, etc…
  • It takes about 2 hours to write 3-5 blog posts

What this means is that a niche site can be constructed in about 4.5 hours. Heck even if it takes a full 8 hours, its still so very worth it!

Why Building Niche Sites is So Profitable

I pay my VA $3/hour. She lives in the Philippines and that is the going rate for this type of work. So, even if she took a full 8 hours to build a site for me, my total investment is $3/hour X 8 hours = $24 + $10 for the domain = $34 per niche site. Yes, that’s right, about $34 per site; however, just to be conservative, lets use a nice round number of $50 per site.

My goal for each niche site is to have it make a profit of $100/month. That’s it, just a “measly” hundred bucks a month. That’s $1200 per year. If a site costs me $50 to make and returns even $1,000 over the next 12 months, that is a massive rate of return on my invested capital. I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of anything else that offers so little risk with such a huge rate of return. Real Estate? Stock Market? Not a chance in hell!

Don’t have, or don’t want to invest any capital? Do it yourself, or just stay working for someone else. I can’t help you with adjusting your mindset for putting your money at risk. What I can tell you is that you will not likely succeed in business if you aren’t will to take a risk.

In other words, wealth starts from the shoulders up.

If you didn’t understand what I just wrote, you might want to read those last two paragraphs again.

So How Do I Get Started?

I want to make this as easy for you as possible so here is all you need to do. Just join my mailing list and I will send you the exact set of extremely detailed instructions that I use when I hire a VA to build sites for me. I am willing to provide you with this for no charge and only ask one thing in return. Tell people about this blog post. Share it, tweet it, email it…whatever. I just want to spread the word to as many people as I can so that more people will have a chance to change their lives for the better. (disclaimer: there will be affiliate links in the report, so if you click them and buy anything, I will make money. However, with that said, aside from a hosting account, you don’t NEED to buy anything to succeed. The tools I use just make it easier and faster to succeed)

A Night with Blogging’s Big 3 Webinar Replay

Originally, I wasn’t planning to record A Night with Blogging’s Big 3. However, with over 1,400 people registered and room for only 1,000, I got a ton of emails asking me to provide some kind of reply so here it is.

I should state the reason for not wanting to record the Webinar wasn’t to make the event more exclusive, it was because it takes a lot of processing power and hard drive space to record a two hour long screen capture video. I had to break out two computers and put them side by side in order to do it and the post processing took the better part of the night.

I want to thank everyone who made out to the Webinar and I want to especially thank Zac Johnson and Jonathan Volk for being part of it. We had a great time putting on the Webinar and really enjoyed the Q&A session. It was great to see such a wide range of attendees.

I gave out a special URL and a piece of code to all the attendees during the Webinar. Unfortunately, I can not republish that information in this post. It’s one of those things where if too many people know about it, then it will eventually lose its value and be shut down.

Your feedback on the Webinar is most welcome. Did you like the format? What would you like to see in the future? Were shocked that there was truly no sales pitch at the end? Let us know!
